And even if they did they probably still wouldn't want to sign off on the chance the test was wrong. Back home she goes and is phoned to be told to stay in doors, drink plenty of fluid and stay away from work until she feels better. No certificate as she is told the hotel can certify her first week on a form. Now she expects to go back next week but the hotel staff keep calling her and telling her she must get clearance to resume work from her GP, this is crazy as the GP has told her she has flu symptoms and not corona virus and the hotel fill in her certificate for the first week.. The panic and general misunderstanding in the community will cause a lot of problems. I know companies need to be aware of any impact on their businesses but this panic mentality will cause a lot of disruptions for schools, businesses etc when a general cautious approach would be better placed to deal with the fallout from this. This carries on with the ignorant and unintelligent approach then this country will come to a halt. Just happy that Porn gets paid while sick, Porn is smiling. The perfect example of this world becoming mad..... H & S is good, prevention is good, till it all becomes a paranoia.... Seen it since years. Yessongs Posted February 27, 2020 Share Posted February 27, 2020 Just a side note here, I too have been in tune here in Calif this morning with the latest case near San Francisco ( Solano County) now being treated in Sacramento, with supposedly this guy having not left Calif, not being in close proximity to any infected people ( Chinese or otherwise) and has tested positive for CV. Now, before I panic and all, let's let the onion get peeled back a bit for this particular case. Already this morning the news, social media etc.etc.etc. are going bonkers over this because it has been determined that this one has come from " unknown origins" and people are now convinced it is "in the air" and we are all doomed. One other thing and I don't want to get into a "politics" shouting match with any other BM's here ( especially Democrats LOL!) but the lovely Nancy Pelosi was here in San Francisco 3 days ago right? She was running up and down China Town here claiming that everything is OK, the CDC etc are all working 24/7 to get to the bottom of this blah, blah, blah. I am not wearing a mask and feel confident that this is not that big of a problem, with all her Democratic Cronies right next to her all gleeming and smiling and nodding their heads to everything she said. Chinese business owners are running out to hug her, you know the drill. So apparently this guy in an adjacent building was filming all of this right? The minute her " tour" and media assertion that all is well, after all the cameras are turned off, the microphones put down, this guy keeps filming form high above. She rounds the corner to a waiting limousine, she gets about 20 feet from it and her staff are handing her masks and they all put one on. Yeah OK, not sure who is more full of shit these days, the Democrats or the people who continue to listen to them. No queue and I really do mean no queue. Walked straight up to one of the electronic gates, and there was a choice of at least 4 with no one waiting. Worst case - best case 9% - 12.5% of the population came down with flu. 32% - 65% sought medical treatment 0.7% - 2% were hospitalised 0.04% - 0.14% died BTW. On a population of 330 Million, if we take the average of 35 M going down with the flu thats a bit more than 10%. 1 in in 10 person roughly. There is an " Asian" market here called " Lion Food Center" that wifey likes to go to, we stopped going 3 weeks ago........at her request.
