It's amazing that you guys have such strong feelings about someone and you can't even get his name right!

Looking sharp is easy although it usually depends upon someone else's work.

Actually being sharp is a whole different matter.

The cane toad reference was a comparison

Of the two repulsive, repugnant, slimy, toxic creatures to come out of Queensland I do find the cane toad more likeable.

As you appear to have the hots for Clive and anti-lockdown "Gold Standard" Gladys, a couple of screen savers just for you.

The kids in my sons Under 13 football team and at his school, are going down like flies with Covid over the last 2 weeks. 😟

What do you mean by "going down", please? Being tested positive, being ill, being seriously ill, or worse?

At my little Grandson's school, 8 kids have tested positive for Covid since term started (as far as I know)

Instead of shutting the class down, they are asking parents to keep them home for 10 days. Just 5 days ago, his best friend tested positive, with mild symptoms. The rest of his class were tested straight away  and fortunately found to be negative.

Whilst it seems that his age group 6/7, have mild or no symptoms, I think the concerns are both obviously to keep the spread down in the school, but also to stop the spread to their family and friends outside of the school.

My daughter was telling me that 4 of her form (registration class) classmates have tested positive for C-19 and are off school. We all did a lateral flow yesterday, all clear. She's in touch with a couple of the kids who are off, they're just complaining of a bit of a cold, the age bracket is 13 - 14. A Teacher has also gone off sick with C-19.

With the increasing numbers in the UK, it might transpire we see another wave, however, the hospitalisations and deaths are remaining static, which I think is the yardstick.

So, a month since the schools reopened in the rest of the UK, office workers mainly back, big increase in the use of public transport, nevermind the rest of the previous restrictions being lifted.

Covid hospitalisations and deaths are actually falling, not increasing, infection numbers are pretty steady, they had been falling. Some of the modelling from the usual  Lefty doom and gloom panty wetting 'experts' had us at about 7000 daily hospitalisations by now, whilst in reality it's about 700, 10 times less. Deaths are averaging about 150 a day over a 7 day average, actually down a bit.

I've said for a while i don't there will ever be another full lockdown, and as time goes on i'm now more confident in that. I know some on here criticise or don't believe in the vaccines, but they really have been the game changer and been very successful in stopping deaths and hospitalisations.

As it stands, i don't see any justification at all for more restrictions being imposed, far less vaccine passports. I also think Boris, Javid, Sanuk have no appetite for that, they can't wait to get through this and back to 'normal' politics and start preparing for a forthcoming election.

People need to stop living in fear and start living again, whether that be scared to near enough go out due to Covid, or in fear of some mad conspiracy where we'll have to be 'slaves' of some totalitarian one world government and universal income, communist or otherwise. Two different extremes, one as nuts as the other IMO.

Take personal responsibility, do what you feel comfortable with, you want to wear a mask then do, you don't want to go on packed public transport then don't, but we are going to learn to live with this as it becomes endemic. That's clearly the direction the UK Government are going, thankfully. Everyone has their own 'risk level' for everything, exercise it.

The end is in sight IMO, due to primarily the vaccines, but we're getting more knowledge and treatments for Covid all the time. I've recently been to packed football grounds, packed theatres, bars, restaurants etc, we're off to Turkey in 2 weeks for a well needed holiday. Only time i'v ever wore a mask was the flight to Glasgow. Life's pretty much back to normal for me, and has been for a while. Once we get through this Winter, next year will really see normality returned. Sure numbers will still go up this winter, but nothing that can't be handled.

I'm away to pack my speedos, thong and rubber ring for me holiday. Actually i'll be doing a wreck dive at about 40metres and trying to avoid getting stung by Lion Fish. Cannot fucking wait!!!!!!!!

Positive on PCR test.
Several of his classmates have got it and are rough, but not hospitalised and several of his football team also have had positive PCR tests and are also rough but not hospitalised.
From reading reports from parents of positive kids, it seems they are rough for an average of 6-9 days.
The school keeps us updated on cases in the school via twice weekly emails. The football team uses the Spond App which updates us on a hourly/daily basis on who has had positive LFT or positive PCR tests, so that we can do a LFT if he has been in close contact with those who have tested positive in any tests.
He is also required to do LFT 3 times a week and inform his school of the test results. 👌

Then perhaps you could post some of that latest news here.  I am sure that it is not all negative, and not just memes and videos.  I just had a look. But there is also a lot of disinformation on Twitter as well.

Yes people who drown sometimes could have been saved if they knew how to swim.  People who drown also are unlikely to take other people with them unless they got too close or were on a ship that went down but that would be called an accident and it happens.

Every thing we do, from the moment we wake, could see us die but we take precautions, adhere to good social practice based on education and tried and tested science, we analyse the risks, sometimes even subconsciously.

Most people drown from not knowing how to swim yet some will still take the risk.  Even the strongest swimmers drown if they get too cocky and attempt to swim or save someone in rough seas or strong currents despite people telling them not to.

Everyday we try to negate the risks associated with living and it would be wise to adhere to good practice including taking medical advice. It just makes sense to me but there are those who, not understanding the risks or the science, try to make fun of those who analyse things for their ongoing safety by offering very poor comparisons, some really ludicrous.

As evidenced here daily from such oracles as Darren of Plymouth, Jake the Asshole and other such covid sages.
