Horizondave Posted April 18, 2021 Share Posted April 18, 2021 Was in a great mood and about to have a drink until Porn tells me the Thai Embassy have made a few errors on her verified documents for the Thai police clearance which we were going to send tomorrow for action as part of a DBS check. The documents themselves are Ok but the verification stamp contains her name spelled wrong on 2 documents out of the 5 paid for. It is the typical 'R' replaced with an 'L' in her surname.. After spending a day in London (leaving Wales at 3.30am) and spending time and £50 for the verification of the 5 documents I am hopeful this can be sorted out without further inconvenience or cost to Porn. Hoping the embassy see fit to rectify the problem with two new documents or a covering letter confirming such error. As said it is just where the documents (all correct) are stamped and a confirmation that Porn was indeed the person who attended the embassy, that is where they spelled her name incorrectly. Think I will still have that drink. Stress! We got the Police check done a few years ago in Bangkok, for a DBS for childminding. Then Sa got pregnant, so didn't need it for childminding after all ... Butch Posted April 18, 2021 Share Posted April 18, 2021 Just finished painting the back of 2 6x6 gates (pressure treated) with "Ronseal one coat" wood stain, which, despite it saying it is one coat, is far from it. In this case it does nothing like it says on the tin. If the Mrs thinks I'm doing the rest of the fence with it, she's bloody mistaken. I'll call it quits on the gates and the fence (which, incidentally I bloody put up) can be done a nice shade of pressure treated green, which by coincidence is the exact same colour it was delivered in. Will cover with decking oil this week as weather looks good for a while. Please note I am not a carpenter and have never done this type of work before but a handheld circular saw helps. While I was working in the garden Porn was making a rhubarb crumble and a smaller apple crumble. Now I know my bike is not ULEZ compliant so we turned around & came home,where I checked on the internet & it's n/a to bikes🤨. I'm not too sad though, less than an hour, he only charged me £289 for a filling and an X ray. At least someone is making some decent money today. maipenrai Posted April 20, 2021 Share Posted April 20, 2021 Didn't even leave my yard yesterday, just spent the day helping the snow to melt more quickly and buggering around with vehicles; after a few days of magnificent weather, we are forecast for rain and then snow tonight but clearing tomorrow and back to the sunshine so the snow won't last long enough to worry about.
